This policy explains what happens to personal data when you use symbroj.com. It covers this website only. Our operating companies run their own sites, and each publishes its own policy.

What we collect

There are only two ways this site collects anything about you: the enquiry form, and analytics.

If you send us an enquiry

The contact form on this site is hosted by Zoho Forms and appears here as an embedded frame. When you submit it, the information you typed goes to Zoho and then to us. That typically means your name, email address, company name and whatever you write in the message, plus anything else you choose to include.

We use it to answer you and to route your enquiry to the right company in the group. We do not sell it, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you asked us a question.

If you simply read the site

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from. It sets cookies in your browser and collects technical data such as your device type, browser, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the pages you view. We see this in aggregate. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Our web host also keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, as a normal part of running and securing a website.

Who processes your data

Some of these providers operate servers outside India, so your data may be processed abroad under their own safeguards.

What we deliberately do not do

Worth stating plainly, because plenty of sites do the opposite:

• We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
• We run no advertising pixels or retargeting trackers on this site.
• Our fonts are served from our own server, not from Google Fonts, so reading this site sends nothing to a font provider.
• We do not attempt to identify individual visitors from analytics.

Cookies

The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics. They record a randomly generated identifier so returning visits are not double-counted, and they expire on their own.

You can block or delete them in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on. Blocking them does not affect how the site works.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us to:

• tell you what personal data of yours we hold and what we did with it;
• correct anything inaccurate or incomplete;
• erase data we no longer need;
• nominate someone to exercise these rights if you are unable to; and
• raise a grievance about how we have handled your data.

Write to contact@symbrojmedia.com and we will respond. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

How long we keep things

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your request and to maintain a record of the conversation, and then we delete it. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period set in our Google Analytics property. If you want your enquiry deleted sooner, ask us and we will do it.

This site links to our group companies and to the publications and events we run, including Symbroj Media, Symbroj Solar, Symbroj Cleantech, SymbrojAI, Metro Rail News, InnoMetro, InnoBus Expo, Bharat AI Expo and the Metro Rail News Awards. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies, not this one.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this site handles personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
